Enterprise Week is already off to a flying start in Class 4! We have been put into teams and each group decided which products we are going to make and sell this week. Each team has 2 products which they are in charge of and our 'Lucky Looms' team have already started to sell loom band bracelets - making £11.40 in one playtime!

Today I (Briony) went to a very exciting festival for the athletics district finals. I went there because I am the best shot putter Sunnybrow has ever seen and I won our cluster festival! I came second with 10.08m and the girl who won threw 10.12m. Unfortunately I didn't win, but I had fun and made new friends from all over County Durham. This amazing festival was in Shildon and I had so much fun!
This week we have been learning about fractions, decimals and percentages in numeracy and Miss Potts has been very impressed with how well we have worked on each part of this topic. Have a go at playing this percentages game to show how well you understand percentages.
As part of Sports Week, we arranged a KS2 School Games tennis festival for our class and Y3/4. Some of us even got to organise and be umpires for the Class 3 competition. We all had great fun and enjoyed having the chance to show off our brilliant tennis skills, as well as our leadership skills for the umpires. Our Class 4 winners were: Justin, Briony, Matthew and Chloe and the Class 3 winners were Kieran, Ciaran, Hannah, Lillie-Beth and Keira-Jo. Well done to everyone who took part! On Tuesday, the whole school had our Sports Day, as part of National Sport Week. Each team captain was given a different country from the World Cup to research and we explained to the rest of our teams all about our countries. We had a fantastic day and enjoyed lots of activities, including long jump, javelin, shot put and different types of races. Some of our younger brothers and sisters even took part in a toddlers' race at the end of the day! Congratulations to the Ghana team who were the winners and a special well done goes to Kirsty and Declan from our class who led this team very well.
Wayne Rooney wanted to chase Suarez for revenge because of the last time they played against each other. When Liverpool played against Man U, Suarez supposedly bite Rooney in the shoulder. He had to go to hospital to have a bandage and an ice pack, but his shoulder never had teeth marks on - no marks at all, just a lump on his shoulder. So they replayed the footage from the match and zoomed in at the moment - it was a mosquito. Wayne Rooney never caught Suarez in time, the match ended 2 minutes earlier because it was far too hot. Yesterday I came home from the pizza shop, my mum and dad handed me an envelope and inside of it were 2 tickets to go to Jaz Mirabel Park in Egypt. When I got there, I went to my room in the hotel and unpacked my bags. After I unpacked, I rushed down to the pool ready to swim with my friend but it was far too hot, all we could be bothered to do was lie down on our sunbeds, listen to music and drift away to a deep sleep. When I woke up I went in the pool.
One day I went on holiday. When I got there I wanted to go and jump in the swimming pool with my friends, but it was far too hot, so I decided to get an ice cream, but it was far too hot and my ice cream melted straight away, so I decided to go on the bumper cars, but it was far too hot and the metal was hot too. Then I went to get some chocolate, but that melted too! It even said ‘none melting chocolate’ on the label! So I just gave up and went to bed.
My mother really wanted me to walk my dog, but it was far too hot so I just watched TV my sister and friends. Then my mother realized I didn’t do what she wanted me to. She said that I was grounded for two weeks unless I walk the dog so I had to do it. My friends were disappointed and they had to go back home. I walked my dog Tyson for two hours and my mum was really angry that I had been out for that long so I was grounded for two weeks but I don’t mind.
But it was far too hot …
It was Christmas Day and Mark had booked a holiday for the family at Paris. There aunty had just came out of hospital with her new little baby, Rosy. Rosy didn’t have a room. So at the moment she had a room in the attic. It was the next day but the airport rang mark and explained that it was far too hot for the planes to fly. So mark past it around the house. Then the next day they rang back and said that they could get a free ticket too south America. They were very pleased We have just found out that we now have two champion shot throwers in school! As well as Briony winning the girls' shot put, Callum H has also been revealed as the winner of the boys' event. Briony has also been selected to be part of the district team for the county finals on Friday. Good luck Briony! Here are some photos from our 'Dress up and Dance' day in aid of Macmillan cancer support, which raised £60.03. We got dressed up as dancers and donated £1 for the charity. Then we got to show off our dance moves in the hall! Well done to everyone who entered the last 100wc. This week your prompt is:
…but it was far too hot… The only rules are that these words must be included in your short story and as always, your writing should be 100 words. As we are nearly at the end of the year and some of you have improved so much with your writing, you may like to have a go at some speech! Still concentrate on using your most creative vocabulary and making sure your stories make sense to your readers. Please enter by commenting on this post. The form will close on Saturday 28th June. |
