Today Hannah received a letter from our local MP (Pat Glass) in response to her letter about our Make a Difference challenge. We were really pleased to get such a quick response and it was great to hear that she is aware of the global water problem and is trying to help.
Good luck for the future to Miss Jones and Miss Taylorson who have finished their placement in our class today. You have been fantastic! Thank you for our treats. We will miss you! From Rhianna and all of Class 4. We had a fantastic dance competition in the hall today. We began with some warm ups and then each class performed a whole class dance to show what they had been learning in PE lessons. We also had some individual, paired and small group dances during the afternoon. Our four judges found it very difficult to score the dances as everyone did a great performance but Class 4 were very pleased to be the winners of the whole class dance. We also had a winner, runner up and joint third place in the individual and group dances. You can see pictures of our winners below with their trophies. Well done to everyone who took part and spent so much time practising their dances. All of your hard work really paid off!
We had a fantastic final cricket club with Miss Jones and Miss Taylorson today with over half of our class staying to join in. Well done everybody! Our Year 5 boys tennis team went to a cluster competition at Parkside today and we are very proud to announce that they won! We played against 4 other schools and we were very pleased to win by such a big margin, scoring double the amount of points of most of the other teams. As usual, behaviour was excellent and the tennis team was a credit to the school. It was great to see all the hard work from our tennis lessons pay off. Congratulations to all involved! Here are the results... Yesterday we had a visit from two volunteers who told us more about Water Aid. We discovered lots of interesting facts that will help us to complete our Make a Difference challenge. Did you know that more people in the world have a mobile phone than a private toilet? Everyone had a great day today as Y6 SATs were finished. All of Year 6 have worked extremely hard throughout the week and they deserve to achieve great results. Unfortunately, we don't find out the results until July as the tests have to be sent away to be marked externally, but we know that everyone has done their best so they have nothing to worry about. Well done to all of Year 6 - we are very proud of all of you! One day in a small forest a small group of people lived in a tiny village with small houses. They gathered lots of resources for their small village. One afternoon, one of them went out to collect even more resources in the most dangerous area. After he managed to get some supplies, he headed back to his small village with his friends, but there was a massive shriek of anger. He was terrified and then a bird that didn’t look friendly blocked his way from to village. He sprang around to run back to his village, but the bird stopped him in his path. One sunny day, I was walking back from school until I found a small bottle, which had pop in, so I took it home. The next morning I went to get the small bottle of pop and then I drank it. I started to feel dizzy and I fell over and fainted. When I woke up I was petite and I was in another place. Then this little boy came to help me and said "Are you ok?" but then a vicious bird came down and tried to eat me so I ran really fast and then I hid away. It all began when… I was busy playing outside in the woods, when I spotted a bottle of blue gloopy stuff on a tree stump. So I went over to pick it up; it read on the front of the bottle 'do NOT drink' (I didn’t listen). Then I drank some of it but all of a sudden I started to grow smaller and smaller. A few minutes after a bird the size of me BEFORE came swopping down to the bottle. It picked it up with its wings and drank the rest of it then it turned bigger and bigger… One day when I was walking in the hushed countryside I saw a giant log. Curious as to what was on top, I climbed up it only to find some giant seeds and a massive hawk. I was just about to turn around and go back down but then the hawk picked me up in its titanic feet and flew away! I wriggled and squirmed but I couldn’t escape. I was very high now so I gave up on trying to escape as I knew I would die. Just then the hawk dived towards the ground. What would happen next? It all began today when I turned into a small person which was like mice squealing. As I was walking down the quiet relaxing street of Willington, I found a new shop in the corner of my eye so I thought I could have a try and have a drink of a cup of tea. When I was finished everything was turning huge so I went to have a walk through the gloomy, crummy woods. Then a giant bird picked me up and took me to his nest, then as quickly as I could I jumped off . . . One beautiful morning, a women was walking through the refreshing rainforest, when she notice some food above her on a tree. Then she climbed up the brown tree and ate the food, which wasn’t food - it was a trap to make people shrink. Then all of a sudden a gigantic bird came from nowhere and he ate the food and he didn’t go small but the women went tiny. Also the women was so sad that she was tiny and the bird left her with a note saying that she needed to find a blue potion to go normal again. One beautiful morning, I decided to go outside to go and play in the lovely weather. As I walked through the menacing forest with my friends, we decided to play a game of hide and seek and my friend, called James, said that he wanted to be on and try and find all of us. Suddenly as James started counting we were all wanted to go in the same direction but I was the only one who didn’t because I wanted to go and hide down the river and little did I know that there was eagle and I ran…… |
