Dance club for children in years 1-6 started this week and Miss Potts was amazed to see 27 children turn up ready to dance! Everyone tried really hard and it was lovely to see some of the older children helping the younger children. We were all exhausted by the end, but we had great fun!

Tag rugby club is becoming more and more popular each week, with 18 children now attending from KS2. Hopefully we will be able to do well at the competition in October. Today we have been learning about quadrilaterals in numeracy. Here is a problem solved by Leon, McCauley and Bethany. How many quadrilaterals can you name? Well done to everyone who entered last week's 100 word challenge. This week you have 5 words that must be put into your writing. They can be in any order but must all be there. It would help Team 100 If you can highlight them in some way so that they can see them all present and correct. Your writing can be about anything you like, as long as it includes these 5 words:
Pepper Crocodile Orange Forgot Soft Please enter your 100WC in the comments by Friday. Good luck! This is our School Sports Organising Crew (SSOCrew) who have recently been elected to help to organise, promote and celebrate sports in school. We will be working as a team with assigned roles, including administrator, equipment organiser and festival leader, to promote the School Games values, plan and lead clubs and competitions and report about any sporting events.
Our notice board is outside the school hall and we will be regularly updating this with photographs and information about sporting activities. Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions about after school clubs, festivals and competitions. Dear Diary,
Today, I went to see the great Avignon Bridge in France. I went to the end of the Avignon Bridge and I saw out of my own very eyes, a petite little girl (wearing a pink top, purple shorts and wedge trainers) just disappear in thin air. I went to investigate because I wanted to know what had happened to that poor little girl, so I went to the end of the bridge and as funny as it seems, I went to the same place that little girl went, a mysterious new world. I will write again tomorrow. One sunny morning, 2 nice children, known as Jennifer and Ross, were wandering around when suddenly, they woke up in the middle of Avignon Bridge in France. They realised a suspicious hovering hole at the end of the bridge. They stepped inside and teleported to a mysterious place.”Wh… where are we?” Jennifer said in a stunned tone.
“I don’t know,” replied Ross,” it looks like the bottom of the bridge.” “How will we get back up?” Jennifer asked with petrified face. “What’s this over here?” Ross responded as he walked through a suspicious door. Will they ever get back up? As part of Roald Dahl day we had great fun watching the Puffin Virtually Live webcast to celebrate 50 years of Charlie and the Chocolate factory. It included a draw along with Quentin Blake, who illustrated almost all of Roald Dahl's books. Do you like our drawings of Willy Wonka? This is your first 100 word challenge of the year. Your task is to write about the picture below. It is a bridge in Avignon in France. Look carefully at the picture. What do you notice?
Write about the picture in exactly 100 words, making sure that you make your writing as interesting as possible and use suitable punctuation. Once you have finished, add your work to the comments on this blog post and I will choose some of the best entries to add to the 100wc website. Make sure that you add your entry before Friday. Good luck! This is just a reminder that we have PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for this half term and children need to have a full PE kit, including trainers for both of these days (plus Mondays for tag rugby club).
If you have already returned your photo permissions slip and internet safety contract, thank you very much, but if not, please return these to school as soon as possible. Thank you. Every afternoon we are enjoying reading our own choice of book for 15 minutes. Some of the books we are currently reading include Lord of the Rings, Born to Run, Fantastic Mr Fox and Goosebumps. Once we have read six books we receive a raffle ticket for a prize draw where we can win a free book to take home. We all really enjoyed our first music lesson of the year with our music teacher, Mrs Hughes. We started with some singing, percussion and rhythm work and we will be going back to the recorders next week. |
