As part of Sports Week, we arranged a KS2 School Games tennis festival for our class and Y3/4. Some of us even got to organise and be umpires for the Class 3 competition. We all had great fun and enjoyed having the chance to show off our brilliant tennis skills, as well as our leadership skills for the umpires. Our Class 4 winners were: Justin, Briony, Matthew and Chloe and the Class 3 winners were Kieran, Ciaran, Hannah, Lillie-Beth and Keira-Jo. Well done to everyone who took part!

Today 16 of us took part in the Parkside cluster athletics festival at Peases West athletics track. We put 100% effort into each event and are very proud of ourselves. In most events, we finished in 2nd or 3rd place, even with some Y3s and Y4s from our team competing against Y6s from other schools. Huge congratulations go to Briony who was the champion of the girl's shot put, with an outstanding throw of 13 metres! Well done to everyone who took part! Today was our first music lesson of the term. We sang songs, played the chime bars and did some percussion activities.
After months of hard work, we have finally completed our 'Make a Difference' challenge! We decided that we wanted to raise awareness of the Syrian refugee crisis in our community and carry out fundraising to support refugees. We planned and presented an assembly to the rest of the school; raised money with a dressing up day; produced poems and posters and organised a Spring fair. In total, we raised around £350, which we decided to donate to Shelterbox who send emergency supplies to refugees. These photos are from the celebration event at Durham University, where some of our Y6 pupils presented our project to over 200 people. We were extremely nervous but we performed very well and everyone loved our presentation! |
