Today 16 of us took part in the Parkside cluster athletics festival at Peases West athletics track. We put 100% effort into each event and are very proud of ourselves. In most events, we finished in 2nd or 3rd place, even with some Y3s and Y4s from our team competing against Y6s from other schools. Huge congratulations go to Briony who was the champion of the girl's shot put, with an outstanding throw of 13 metres! Well done to everyone who took part!

Today we worked in groups to create a presentation about different aspects of Viking life - homes, clothing, job and food and drink. Everyone worked very well in their small groups and produced interesting presentations. This week we have been learning about division in Maths and Briony has created a Show Me video to explain how to divide and give your remainder as a fraction. As part of School Sport Week, which runs from the 23rd - 27th June, all children in key stage two will be taking part in a tennis competition on Thursday 26th June on the school yard. Please remember to bring your PE kit and hopefully we should have a great afternoon! Click these links to find out more about the type of warm ups and activities we will do on the day as part of this School Games Level 1 competition.

We had two brilliant visitors called Les and Kerry (from Tardis resources) who worked with us all day. We started by doing some warm up activities, role play and freeze frames and then we planned and recorded our film to warn people about the dangers of alcohol. We look forward to watching the film once it has been edited.
This week we practised hurdles in athletics club with Nikki. 16 of us are attending an athletics festival at Peases West stadium on Friday. Wish us luck! Year 6 have had yet another brilliant day out - this time at Northumbria University (which is where Miss Potts went when she was a student). We had a great day with our student reps, Heather and Nonso, who were really impressed with our behaviour and the quality of the questions that we asked. We played games in the enormous sports hall, did a treasure hunt in the library and explored the campus by playing 'Campus Monopoly'. Extra congratulations to Luke who was chosen as the star pupil in our group during the graduation ceremony, due to his outstanding behaviour and attitude during the day.
We have received a letter of congratulations and our cheque from Go-Givers for winning the scrapbook competition. How exciting! 3 little men were walking along a street then all of a sudden THEY ALL STOPPED. Then they all jumped backwards, because there was a big brown circle falling from the sky. When it hit the ground it cracked, and then the cream splashed over their faces and they stated to laugh hahahahahahahahahaha. Then they went back home to get there spades so they can chop up the chocolate. So then they ate some of the cream and chocolate and they all said ”the cream and chocolate is really nice so then all of the parents came and ate some
Once a giant crème egg meteor smashed into the construction yard of eggnon three construction workers investigated it while the others stayed back. The three construction workers pulled it open and lots of goo came pouring. One of the construction workers touched the goo then fell asleep and then got transformed into a giant human eating monster! The monster walked around eating humans while smashing buildings. First the police came and started shooting at it but bounced like flys next the army came and shot rockets at it but did nothing. It looked like the world was in terrible danger!
One day a giant egg fell onto the floor. The builders went to see what it was so they tried to rip it open. So they couldn’t rip it open, then they went to get some of their tools to open the egg. So they got their tools and they were trying to open the egg then they were going to have their lunch. Finally they opened the egg then they just found out that it was a cream egg. So when they found out it was cream egg they all said let’s eat it so they ate it all.
It was just one normal day in the town of London it was a very sunny day too. Then all of a sudden it shouted out on the screens on the buildings EVERYONE GET UNDER COVER THERE IS A CREAM EGG COMING DOWN FROM SPACE. The police came running out all over the city trying to help people get into a safe place. The cream egg suddenly came down from space and splatted all over the town of London. All of a sudden the fire engine, police and the ambulance came speeding round the corner to help the injured people.
