We visited Hardwick Park to learn how to read and follow maps in order to find places and objects around the park. It was a fantastic venue with some beautiful sites. We began by undertaking some activities which required us to follow maps and plans and use directional language. We had good fun! We also had to work in teams in order to assemble a map of the park; this required excellent communication and team working. Some of us were fantastic team leaders! Next, we were involved in a short orienteering activity where we followed a map of the park. We had three teams competing against one another. The most effective team communicated well, checked the map regularly and ensured that no team members were left behind! Our final challenge was an activity across the entire park; it was a tough challenge, but we had good fun and worked up a great appetite for lunch! We saw some wonderful sights and some beautiful wildlife and nature! What a lovely day!
