While we were at the Gurdwara we explored the dabar sahib (prayer room) and were offered biscuits and juice in the langar room (food hall). We were shown around and given a talk by Mr Singh who managed to answer all of our questions. Our visit provided us with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding into the importance of the Gurdwara and experience some Sikh traditions and routines.
After visiting the Gurdwara we moved onto The Great North Museum where we spent the afternoon exploring the Ancient Egyptian exhibit. While we were there we had a go at decoding hieroglyphics from the book of the dead, building pyramids out of lego and wood and exploring artefacts which gave us a greater insight into what life was like in Ancient Egyptian times.
We all enjoyed our busy day. Take a look at our photos!
