When I took a step through the deep, dark forest with my friend James, we saw a tree that looked like it was trying to grab us and eat us for breakfast. Luckily, we managed to survive. It was almost like the forest was alive as we took steps into the unknown. We could see crossed sticks waving a sign of danger, but that wouldn’t stop us, so we ran away. When I stopped my friend was gone. I was petrified; I screamed his name over and over again, but there was no reply. I was afraid that I wouldn’t make it out the forest alive!
Suddenly, I woke up in shock. Realising I was not in my bedroom at all, hearing howls of a mysterious beast somewhere out there, I cautiously walked among the shadows that followed me. Just then, I heard a scream, who was it? It sounded like a beast, the howling beast of the nightmares searching for prey who was in its territory. Seeing a flash light rushing towards me, I dived into the bush. Sensing the beast, into a sprint I ran, and suddenly the forest seemed alive as the thorns grabbed my legs with the beast above my head. I was doomed to die there.
This is the penultimate prompt of this year. That means there is one more prompt after this! Your writing is getting so much better with some excellent story lines. This week the prompt is:
…the forest seemed alive as… Don’t forget to only use 105 words altogether. Make sure your writing makes sense and do go and visit some other pieces and leave a supportive comment. The form will close on Saturday 5th July. This afternoon, we had great fun making persuasive video adverts for some of our products as part of Enterprise Week. In our small groups, we planned, scripted, performed and recorded our adverts - all in one afternoon! Hopefully, we'll be able to show you our adverts soon, but for now, here are some pictures of us in action.
Year 5 children have had a fun-filled day at Parkside for one of their multi-skills days. Children who performed particularly well were awarded certificates and prizes. Well done Year 5!
