We have been getting prepared for our WaterAid coffee morning/ fair on Friday. Thank you very much to Mrs Garrod who has helped us to decorate these cakes - you can win one at the fair by guessing its weight. A big thank you also goes to Harry's mam for making a chocolate and sweets hamper for our raffle. Remember to bring your money on Friday!
Today we had a visit from Joanne to learn about the consequences of drinking energy drinks. We thought carefully about how much sugar and caffeine is in each can of energy drink and thought about how too much caffeine impacts upon the body. Our class is organising a coffee morning/ small fair on Friday 19th June to raise money for Water Aid. This is because we are doing a Make a Difference Challenge and we want to help people who don’t have access to clean water or toilets.
Any parents, carers, grandparents, aunties, uncles etc. of children in any class are welcome to attend. We have a special guest coming on the day at around 10am – the local MP (Pat Glass) and we are also inviting other important members of the community. On the day, we will be selling snacks and refreshments, holding a raffle and tombola, doing face and nail painting plus some other stalls. Class 4 will also be giving a presentation and performing songs and a short play at around 10am when Pat Glass arrives. You are welcome to attend from 9:15am in the hall until it finishes at around 10:45am. Please send in any donations of toys, books, raffle prizes and any other items that we might be able to sell or use as a tombola prize. All funds raised will be donated to Water Aid. Here is their website for more details http://www.wateraid.org/uk/ If you have any further questions, please contact Miss Potts or any member of Class 4 for more information. We would love to have some parent volunteers to help out on the day. Thank you! The Lambton team celebrated our win for the most team points in the Spring term today. We watched a DVD, played games on the field and enjoyed some treats and drinks. It was well deserved after all of our good behaviour. Everyone had a lovely afternoon! Year 6 have had a brilliant day at the Durham Cathedral leavers's service, followed by a meal at Chiquito's. This was a well deserved reward for all of their hard work this year and everyone had lots of fun! Today is the Year 6 cricket competition at Hunwick cricket club. We are currently hiding from the rain in the clubhouse! By the end of the day, we had played 4 cricket matches and had great fun. Thankfully, the rain stopped so we could complete our final games. We won one match and were very close to winning two others, losing by only 3-4 runs. Everyone was a credit to the school as usual and showed fantastic sportsmanship. Well done Class 4! |
